The drink: Royal Blush
The price: $7 (happy hour)
The story: Stop by Chef Bee’s latest hotspot, NaiYaRa, where captivating scenes of Thailand will welcome you. In fact, bold lettering above the bar literally reads “Miami Siam” in Thai. Local artist Daniel Fila (aka Krave), whose lovely wife is Thai, curated and designed the restaurant’s decor after a trip to visit family in Bangkok last year. With their help, the couple sourced memorabilia from the ’60s for inspiration and materials. Fila’s stylish creations harken back to the Vietnam War era via drawings, graphics, collages, and you won’t have any trouble staying stimulated inside the Sunset Harbour eatery.
Visit during NaiYaRa’s generous daily happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. We love the Royal Blush: Kai Lychee vodka, crème de cassis (black currant-flavored liqueur) and prosecco. It’s bar manager Anthony Lee’s twist on the caprioska cocktail, which is a caipirinha made with vodka in lieu of cachaça. Sounds complicated, but it’s not; three simple ingredients bring a refreshing and elegant twist to the super-authentic Northern Thai dishes. Balance bites of Chiang Rai sausage (sai ua), spicy glass noodle salad (yum woon sen) or decadent Thai-style chicken thighs! Each plate is $7 during #HH.
Go: NaiYaRa, 1854 Bay Rd., Miami Beach.
